BRITISH CLASSIC YACHT CLUB REGATTA, 2008

In July, Sceptre and a crew of 12 owners and friends attended the British Classic Yacht Club's annual regatta at Cowes, Isle of Wight. 

A week of perfect sailing weather was enhanced by the presence in the fleet of the "big boats", on their way back to the Mediterranean from the Clyde.  It was a privilege to race against the beautiful Fifes Tuiga, Lady Anne and Mariette, the Herreshoff schooner Mariette, and a number of other notable yachts.  Click here for some photos.

The on-shore highlight of the week was the Sceptre Golden Jubilee Reception, kindly arranged by the British Classic Yacht Club and hosted by the Royal Yacht Squadron.  Sceptre's 50th birthday was toasted, "Happy Birthday to you" was sung and we all look forward to the next 50 years.
